I’m going to talk about The legend known as… This is a comic I only wrote last year. It’s a 4 issue only arch about a young boy who grows up in a flooded apocalyptic New England located in what’s left of the United States. It of course being a hero genre story needs… well a Hero. And boy do I have one for you! His name? Anything you like! You will know nothing about this guy and only really see him when he’s saving the day. The real story is about Tom, the young lad whose life is touched by this hero.
At the moment this is being made by Unico Artist, Steven Howard (yep the guy who made Dragon Groove).
Steven has already pencilled the first two issues and just needs to ink and colour the rest of the comic. The frustrating thing about this comic is the fact for about 5 months now people have been saying “When’s your comic out?” and I’ve told them the truth “Next month”. Only to find it’s going to be pushed back yet another month. It’s hard to believe that this comic was first due to be out Christmas 2007. To be fair to Steven he does crack away at it and something always comes up, firstly it was Dragon Groove then it was an Inking job for some American lads and now it’s Nexus Comic. I beginning to wonder if I’ll ever see anything of mine in print but I know it's far from Steven's fault because he’s doing the job of a team of people all on his own and he even got help from Phil (Unico’s other Writer) to do the Lettering. Cheers Phil. It’s just disheartening for me cause this will be my 4th attempt at getting a comic made as the others had been cancelled. First there was Hellion, then Faith and then Our Heroes Fall.
But anyway the good news is that when The legend known as… DOES come out it’s going to be bloody awesome. If this doesn’t make a buzz in the small press world then nothing will. When will it be out? Next month I'm told.
