My Comics: Console Wars [Pt 1]

About 6 months ago I was sat at one of the Unico meetings and having a look through Adam Whitfield’s sketch book while the meeting wound down and drifted into one of its many Batman related conversations. I saw a little sketch about 2 X-Box 360’s. It was funny and I asked Adam where he’d come up with the idea. Adam said that it was called Console Wars and he’d come up with the idea a few months back and that David was going to do a few scripts, I asked if I could do a few and about an hour after I got home Adam had 7 in his email tray from me. The ideas just seemed to flow out nice and easy for it.

About 4 months had past and once again I asked him about Console Wars and Adam replied that nothing more was done about it, the other scripts hadn’t appeared and he hadn’t started on mine as he was busy with Uber-Naughts and A Killer Born. Sitting with us was Adam’s mate and our proof reader, Dan Garrett who suggested he’s have a crack at doing them on Photoshop and we’d spit balled a few ideas like making them look kind of cheesy etc. Well long story short in about 2 weeks Dan had made a handfull; I’d done more scripts in between more normal script writing and even knocked up a website for them. All in all we were very proud of them and thought they were funny.

It seems Graeme from PSX Games thought so as well because he’s just bought the rights to show Console Wars on his main website. To say me, Dan, and Adam are chuffed is an understatement cause it’s bloody nice to be praised and appreciated on the work that was done, especially after a certain pair (who’ll remain nameless on this Blog) who are meant to be comrades at Unico had no praise to give and instead were just concerned about getting their names on it (In my book you do the work you get the credit, and no just simply saying you were there when Adam pitched the idea doesn’t count). This should make the next meeting fun.
