Well with the comic done and put together comes for me the scariest part... reviews! We’ll be sending copies of it to all the major Small Press community websites and even Comics International.Now we all know the comic is aces but I can’t help but worry about how it’s going to be received. The comic itself caters for every artwork and writing style you may want to see so I’m sure that there will be something for everyone. But I just can’t worry like an old women about how it will be received, not just for my own comics but for everyone who was involved.
Criticism is part and parcel of the business as you can’t keep everyone happy 100% of the time. So as I go into my first reviews of any work I’ve had published I find myself asking what I’ll expect people to make of my work, or will it be worse if no one mentions me at all? Hey out of ten comics the reviews may pick out the worst and best and not mention me at all… should I be happy to be just middle of the road? Hell it has to be better than being the “crappy writer” yeah?
Of course it’s just my negative constitution that is happy to assume that I’ll not be top dog, the big cheese, top honcho when it comes to the writers in this comic and at the end of the day there is no reason why I’ll not get great reviews for my writing. Hopefully we’ll all get great reviews because at the end of the day it’s not about personal achievement but the achievements of everyone involved in Unico Collections.
